IMPROVING USER PHISHING DETECTION THROUGH UX-ORIENTED SECURITY DESIGN

Thank You for taking some time to participate in this research survey. I am a Postgraduate student at the University of Sunderland conducting a study on how people identify phishing attempts in login interfaces. This session will take approximately 5 to 10 minutes.

The Meaning of Phishing

Phishing is a form of cyber attack where hackers trick users into revealing sensitive information.

The Purpose of this Research

This research aims to understand whether different interface designs help users better identify phishing attempts.

What you will be asked to do

  • You will be shown a series of simulated login page designs, such as Google and LinkedIn.
  • For each one, you will decide whether it is legitimate or a phishing attempt.
  • Please answer based on your immediate judgment.
  • Some pages may appear very similar, so please evaluate each independently and carefully.

Important information

  • This study is anonymous and for academic research purposes only.
  • No identifying information will be linked to your answers.
  • This study involves no risk. All phishing examples are simulated.
  • You will not be asked to enter real passwords or personal information.
  • Participation is voluntary and you may choose to withdraw at any time during the session without giving a reason.

Participant Consent

Your consent is needed in order to participate.
